CHANNELING THE BURMESE IN ME

Perphas, being in Myanmar for sometime now, made me — Burmese at heart. I may be Filipino by blood but I have learned how to appreciate and embody the Burmese culture. I speak basic Burmese language. I savor delicious Burmese delicacies. And I wear exquisite Burmese traditional clothes.

Take this outfit — I wore it at a wedding. A friend joked and quipped, ‘You looked like a Myanmar driver!’ But, I didn’t mind. I just told myself, ‘I have to wear it — with an atiitude.” Besides, Myanmar drivers are so fashionable.

P.S. I’m excited to wear my new set of Myanmar traditional outifit on February 14. We have been invited to another wedding — in the posh Novotel Hotel.

That’s it!

Regards,

Joamar-John
